Lincoln School Needs Your Help

A short time ago, Lincoln Elementary introduced our students to the educational software programs called Study Island and Reading Eggs.  The students loved these online programs and really want it for our school.  These programs have made learning much easier for many. Take a moment, ask YOUR child about their experience, and see the excitement on their face.

We would like to implement this program for all students in our school. Due to lack of funding, we don’t have the first installment payment of $3,500, which is due January 30th to fund this learning opportunity. We are a Title 1 school. The total cost over three years is $11,000.  So we need YOUR help. Please help us by making a tax deductible donation payable to Lincoln Elementary School (Tax ID# 94-171-7677). Any amount would be greatly appreciated. We need to raise this money by the end of January.

To share our school’s profile with you, Lincoln Elementary has a student population of 436 students.  We are a transitional kindergarten to sixth grade school and anticipate growing next year.  Our school is a Title I school, which means that 52% of our students are on free and reduced lunch, and 67% of our student populations come from low income families.  Therefore, we rely on donations and support from our families and community to enable us to serve our children with programs such as these.

Our main objectives:

  • To provide a California standard and research based computer software programs for students use
  • To use software to promote student reading and reinforce concepts taught by teachers
  • To help students with typing and test taking skills needed for the State test assessments
  • To increase individual student self-esteem as they attain educational success

Our expected outcome:

  • To increase student learning and understanding of curriculum
  • To increase student academic achievement
  • To reduce the achievement gap between significant groups

PLEASE READ HOW YOUR COMPANY EMPLOYER CAN HELP

It’s a new tax year upon us. Many corporations are honoring “matching” donations to 501c organizations, such as our school district. The matching donations are simple.  The companies with such programs will match a percentage of YOUR donation and submit it to our school.  Please take a moment to inquire with your company’s Human Resource Department for details.  With your donation and your company’s donation, it will help us to achieve our goal of raising the $3,500, so that we can offer this program to our students.

Checks are to be made payable to: Lincoln Elementary School, reference Tax ID# 94-171-7677

Thank you in advance for your donation!

Sincerely,

Angela Ehrlich
